Samsung will present its new family of top-of-the-range smartphones on August 5, but thanks to a complete filtration we have the possible price of the Galaxy Note 20 in its 4G and 5G versions in the European market.
About a month ago we published a first estimate of the price of the Galaxy Note 20, and in general this new information doesn’t stray too far of that forecast, but it presents a small positive difference for the consumer, since the prices it collects are slightly lower.
I do not make you wait, we are going the price of the Galaxy Note 20 4G and 5G in their different versions. The standard model will have, according to the source of the news, a price of 949 euros in its version with 4G, and 1,049 euros in its version with 5G connectivity. Both prices make sense, and the difference of 100 euros between one version and the other is perfectly justified by the support of 5G connectivity.
Regarding the price of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which will be limited to 5G connectivity (there will be no 4G variant), it will be 1,299 euros, a figure a little more “reasonable” than the 1,349 euros indicated by the first information we had seen. This price applies to the version with 256 GB of storage capacity, since it is said that there will be a version with 512 GB of storage capacity that will cost between 1,399 and 1,449 euros.
The price of the Galaxy Note 20 will be high, but will it be justified?
I think this is an important question because some sources are saying that the standard model will be plastic finish, and that the European version will be lower because it will use an Exynos 990 SoC instead of a Snapdragon 865+. We must bear in mind that the first is not confirmed, and in fact I do not see any sense, and the second we have to qualify.
We start at the beginning. The Galaxy Note 20 is a top-of-the-range premium smartphone, and it makes no sense to think that Samsung can launch it with an aluminum and plastic chassis instead of glass to save a few dollars, in fact it would be a huge mistake to put a 999-euro smartphone finished in plastic on the market.
On the other hand, we must bear in mind that, although it is true that the Galaxy Note 20 will use an Exynos 990 SoC in Europe, this chip will not be exactly the same as we have seen in the Galaxy S20. New, fairly reliable information ensures that Samsung has managed to polish the chip design and fine-tune the production process to develop a more powerful, more efficient and cooler version, and that this will be the one used in its new top-of-the-range smartphones.
This means that the chip that we will see in the Galaxy Note 20 will be a kind of SoC Exynos 990+. It may not be more powerful than the Snapdragon 865+, but it will offer much more solid value than the original. Before finishing I take the opportunity to remind you of the possible specifications of the Galaxy Note 20.
