We have been talking about the Motorola Razr 2020 for several months, a flexible smartphone that will maintain the base design of the Motorola Razr 2019, and which, as expected, will bring major hardware improvements.
The rumors and the leaks had been disparate, but that idea has always been kept, and is perfectly understandable, after all, a very radical design change would make the Motorola Razr 2020 lose that classic essence that we saw in the 2019 model that users liked so much.
I know what you are thinking, that the Motorola Razr 2019 did not finish meeting all the expectations it generated. Yes, in part it is true, at the level of design and quality of finishes it lived up to it, but its high price and its low resistance to wear and tear produced by simple use made it more of an expensive treat than a truly viable smartphone for a normal user.
This simple description allows us to see, in a quite clear way, where Motorola has to focus the key improvements if it wants the Motorola Razr 2020 to offer greater resistance than the 2019 model. We still do not have official information, but it is possible to think that the Wing Company will use a screen saver from ultrathin glass, and that the hinge area will have the necessary changes and reinforcements to offer a longer service life.
Motorola Razr 2020: a renewed classic with small nuances
If we take a look at the renders that have leaked, courtesy of the prolific and always reliable Evan Blass and published by GSMArena. We can see that the Motorola Razr 2020 hardly presents any changes compared to last year’s model. The most obvious change is also the most important, and that is that the fingerprint reader no longer appears at the bottom of the front. This leaves us with two great options, whether it has been moved to the side or has been integrated into the terminal screen.
The interior screen has the same format and the same notch style, but this one seems slightly thinner than the 2019 model. As we see, the combination of an internal flexible type with a horizontal fold (the main one) with a smaller secondary one is maintained, which is placed on the outside and allows us to see notifications and perform certain actions without having to open the smartphone.
At the hardware level, the most interesting changes will be focused on the SoC, since the Motorola Razr 2020 will use a Snapdragon 765G (5G), and in the cameras, since it is said that it will have two main cameras of 48 MP and 16 MP and a secondary camera for selfies of 8 MP. Otherwise we expect it to come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage capacity.
If everything goes according to plan, the presentation of the Motorola Razr 2020 should take place between October and November of this year, and its price should be around 1,500 euros.
