Today it is very difficult for large companies to keep their secrets and products, normally leaked by their own workers or experts, although sometimes they also come from small human errors. This has been the case of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, the still unpublished next installment of this shooter, which has just been confirmed through a promotion in a bag of potatoes.
The promotion, which would offer the opportunity to earn double experience points for one year, would have an effective date from October 5Although that does not necessarily guarantee that the game is available at the same time. And is that last year we could already see a similar action for the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, with a promotion that started on October 1, a few days before the original launch of the game, on October 25.
Thus, it would be expected that this new installment would make its debut during the last months of this year. However, it should be noted that 2020 is not being a normal year, so as we have seen with other games and products, it would still be possible to wait a little delay.
The game could also be the product of corporate drama, with Treyarch apparently taking over after Raven and Sledgehammer fought for the title. And we recently learned the news that Treyarch co-director Jason Blundell was leaving the studio after 13 years. Even so, the proximity of the release date of these games should imply an advanced phase of their development, so Blundell’s departure should not significantly affect the final result of these games.
These are the two Doritos Double XP promotional images that I was DM’d earlier from an anonymous source for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. I was too worried about copyright issues to post them earlier but since CharlieIntel shared them I (assume?) They’re safe. pic.twitter.com/yvvjH7CvKU

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War or Call of Duty The Red Door?
The first of all is to mention that, apparently, we find a different title to the recently leaked Call of Duty The Red Door, associated with communism and the era of the Cold War between the US and the USSR. However, although in the absence of further details or official confirmations, given the more direct name of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, it is possible that this installment will finally be set in this most current period.
In this way, Call of Duty The Red Door would go on to take the last leaked setting, exploring the Vietnam War from the perspectives of the US, South Vietnam and the Viet Cong. A plot that also seems to fit somewhat more with the previously filtered image, in which we can see an extensive maze through the keyhole.
Whichever game comes, the ad is “late.” And it is that historically speaking, Activision has always done the Call of Duty announcements during E3, celebrated during June. However, given the cancellation of both physical and digital editions of the fair, this year they would have taken advantage of this little extra time.
Although of course, we must also bear in mind that any game released at the end of the year, and especially great titles and developers like these, have the great handicap of the release date of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, in which one might also expect the game to be available.
In fact, the imminent arrival of the new generation of consoles could be one of the main incentives for Activision to take so long to advance details about its next Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War installment, seeking to add to the great impact of the launch of these consoles. And it would not be the first time that we saw a console pack plus game with this saga.
