Good news for players who are quarantined and need to save: Psyonix Just confirmed that its flagship game, Rocket League, will soon be playable free on all available platforms. And is that beyond the recurring Battle Royale, this title released in 2015 still remains one of the favorites today.
However, as part of the move following the purchase of this studio by Epic Games, the game will not only be added to its platform library, but it will also lead to its departure from Steam. Luckily, all current owners of the game will continue to receive all updates and support, the only change being the exclusivity of Rocket League for PC, through the Epic Games Store.
According to Psyonix, the next update will be “The largest to date” Rocket League. Includes cross-platform progression for player item inventory, Rocket Pass progress, and competitive rank when linked to an Epic Games account.
In addition, all those players who currently own the game, will receive all DLC released for the game when it’s free, along with a legacy title «Est. 20XX »(showing the year the game was purchased), over 200 improved common elements to the “Legacy” quality, and additional elements such as Golden Cosmos Boost, Dieci-Oro Wheels, and Huntress Player Banner.
Furthermore, the summer update will also bring a new cross-platform progression system that will require an Epic Games Store account to use, this will finally allow users to access their items, rankings, and rocket pass progression across all platforms.
