Ubisoft has learned a great lesson with the launch of Odyssey: Giving the option to choose the gender of our protagonist is a step forward. However, the company intends to go further in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the next video game in the franchise. Selecting the character’s gender at the beginning is no longer enough, so now we can change it to pleasure at any time of the adventure.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Sex change to pleasure
Character customization is a key part of the player experience. It is a system highly appreciated by many, but tell Cyberpunk 2077, which promises a more than detailed system. For its part, Ubisoft is also aware. While video games like The Division 2 or Assassin’s Creed Odyssey only allow you to choose the gender of the character at the beginning, others like Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla allow you to change this section at any time.
You can play as Eivor as a man or a woman, and although at first you will choose one of these sexes, you can quickly switch between woman or man from the menu. It is a completely different way of presenting the aspect of sex compared to any other Assassin’s Creed of the past.
Damien Leyris, One of the producers of Valhalla, has made it clear that it will be our actions (of the players) that define our character, regardless of the sex we decide to choose at the beginning or any day. This means that it does not matter if we are male or female, the narrative will have the same consequences for both of us when we make a decision. Thus, Eivor can be a man or a woman at any time.
