Tiger Lake Intel Xe graphics outperform NVIDIA MX350

Intel Xe graphics of Tiger Lake processors point well in the first analyzes, according to the results obtained from the filtered GeeBench reference points, where sOperates to a dedicated graphics like the NVIDIA GeForce MX350.

You already know that “Tiger Lake” will be Intel’s next processing platform. Yes, another one, although this one is extremely interesting. Successor of the current “Ice Lake” will be aimed primarily at mobile computing, although we believe that it will end up reaching all market segments in different variants.

Manufactured in 10 ++ nanometer technological processes, it will be the first to have support for the new Thunderbolt 4 interface, AVX512 instructions and perhaps PCIe 4.0 where Intel has lagged behind AMD. Your CPU will deliver significant performance gains with Willow Cove cores, transistor-level optimization, a 50% increase in L3 cache and working frequencies, AI accelerators, and reduced latency.

Another very important «leg» of these processors will be the new integrated graphics that it will include. A new generation Intel Xe (Gen12) which should show us how ambitious Intel’s strategy in the graphics business is, with a new department led by Raja Koduri (formerly head of AMD’s Radeon Technologies group), which will also deliver Intel’s first dedicated graphics in 20 years. .

The leaked benchmarks show a Core i7-1165G7 with a 28 Watt TDP that matches the overall result and in several respects outperforms the performance offered by a GeForce MX350. It is not the most powerful of NVIDIA, obviously, and is intended for ultraportables and basic laptops, but it is still a dedicated graphics.

There are also other comparisons with other processors such as a Core i5-1135G7 that will also integrate this Intel Xe, but with a lower number of execution units.

Taking these results with caution, because we lack a lot of data and are tests on pre-production units, we can anticipate that Intel will make an important leap in the graphics section with these new integrations that – from what we have seen so far – will offer sufficient performance so as not to have to mount additional dedicated graphics on a good number of models, at least those that are not dedicated to games.

We are also very interested to see if the dedicated graphics card (codename DG1) that we expect in a few months, lives up to the catalog offered by NVIDIA and AMD. The green giant overwhelmingly dominates the segment and prices for the upper-middle range are high. The alternatives that may come are always positive.
