AMD Releases Ryzen 3000XT Processors: Specs and Pricing

The Ryzen 3000XT processors had been leaked on more than one occasion, in fact in the middle of last June we were able to confirm their specifications and sale prices in the international market. Today we finally have the final specifications and we also know its price in the Spanish market.

First of all I want to remind you that Ryzen 3000XT processors they are a simple “refresh” of the Ryzen 3000X that brings a small increase in the working frequencies, without more. This means that they do not bring changes at the architectural level, and neither with regard to the count of cores, their only difference from the “X” models is in the working frequencies, and as we will see, this difference is minimal.

Ryzen 3000XT Specifications

We have a total of three models that rank, in order of priority, in the medium, medium-high and high range. All of them are compatible with the same motherboards as the Ryzen 3000X and support overclocking, although they have such tight working frequencies that their margin of rise will be, almost certainly, minimal or practically null.

Then I leave the characteristics of each model.

Ryzen 5 3600XT

  • Zen 2 architecture at 7 nm.
  • Six cores and twelve threads at 3.8 GHz-4.5 GHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 32 MB of L3 cache.
  • 95 Watt TDP.
  • Price: 269.90 euros.

Ryzen 7 3800XT

  • Zen 2 architecture at 7 nm.
  • Eight cores and sixteen threads at 3.9 GHz-4.7 GHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 32 MB of L3 cache.
  • 105 Watt TDP.
  • Price: 438.90 euros.

Ryzen 9 3900XT

  • Zen 2 architecture at 7 nm.
  • 12 cores and 24 threads at 3.8 GHz-4.7 GHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 64 MB of L3 cache.
  • 105 Watt TDP.
  • Price: 548.90 euros.

All processors are assigned to a promotion that will allow us get free a download code from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as soon as it is available.

As we can see the prices are quite high, and the increase in the working frequencies is nothing else. I know what you are thinking, that 4.7 GHz is not bad, and yes, it is true, but that is the maximum frequency with a single active core. In practice, with all the cores active, the average values of the Ryzen 3000XT will be around 4.3 GHz.

AMD Releases Ryzen 3000XT Processors: Specs and Pricing 30

The Ryzen 5 3600X, Ryzen 7 3800X and Ryzen 9 3900X are priced, respectively, at 217.90 euros, 325 euros and 479.90 euros, respectively. The difference compared to the Ryzen 3000XT is minimal, and is limited to the maximum frequency peak that the latter can achieve in turbo mode. With this in mind I think the conclusion is clear, that “extra” is not worth paying.

So that you have a clearer vision of how they position The Ryzen 3000 XT compared to the Ryzen 3000X I leave you the specifications of the latter:

Ryzen 5 3600X

  • Zen 2 architecture at 7 nm.
  • Six cores and twelve threads at 3.8 GHz-4.4 GHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 32 MB of L3 cache.
  • 95 Watt TDP.
  • Price: 217.90 euros.

Ryzen 7 3800X

  • Zen 2 architecture at 7 nm.
  • Eight cores and sixteen threads at 3.9 GHz-4.5 GHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 32 MB of L3 cache.
  • 105 Watt TDP.
  • Price: 325 euros.

Ryzen 9 3900X

  • Zen 2 architecture at 7 nm.
  • 12 cores and 24 threads at 3.8 GHz-4.6 GHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 64 MB of L3 cache.
  • 105 Watt TDP.
  • Price: 479.90 euros.

I do not understand what has led AMD to launch the Ryzen 3000XT series, especially considering that in the case of the Ryzen 5 3600XT the difference compared to the «X» model is limited to 100 MHz more in turbo mode, but the truth is that they don’t make much sense.
