After learning about the unpromising sales figures of the Pixel 4, and despite the enormous amount of advances in its next review, Google has once again been the victim of leaks with the discovery of a CAD file of the upcoming Google Pixel 5, which thanks to the artist Pigtou, leaves us the first images and renders of the next smartphone of the American giant.
For the moment based exclusively on the leaks themselves, the new Pixel 5 would equip a 5.78-inch screen, and a generous size between 144.6mm long, 70.4mm wide, and a slim thickness of 8mm only altered by a small extra bump for the rear camera setup, which will add another 1.5mm. Measurements closer to the iPhone 11 XS than to their own phones, although in terms of design, It looks a lot like the Google Pixel 4, including the ever-present thick bezels, but at least they’re symmetrical in every way.
As for its structure, everything points to an aluminum chassis with a glass back, like the Pixel 4, although as we can see in the images, this time the company seems to have opted for remove the headphone jack jack, with the only presence of a USB-C input at the bottom that could be used for this use in addition to the load itself.
Although the new Google smartphone will also have other similarities with the still not released Pixel 4a, opting for a perforated front camera to maintain a higher screen ratio, and somewhat more symmetrical and refined aesthetic lines.
Similarly, Google also seems to have avoided including a fingerprint reader under the screen, resigned to the classic circular sensor for the rear, suggesting that the device may not be that sophisticated in terms of specs. A detail that would be in line with the previous leaks and rumors that suggest that the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor.
It also has a square camera module on the back, which depending on size, would aim to encompass a system of just two cameras for its main rear configuration, along with a flash.
Thus, in the absence of information from Google itself, the new Pixel 5 is expected to land on the international market in late summer, pointing to the rumors at some point between September and October of this year. At the moment figures on its possible price are unknown, although given its more restrained character and specifications, it is very likely that we will find a fairly cheap phone.
