Core i9-10850K is a hitherto unknown new processor that has appeared in the test application database Geekbench and is expected to join the impressive Intel processor catalog soon.
The Core i9-10850K is a Comet Lake-S series CPU for desktop computers. Intended for the high-end, it offers 10 cores and 20 threads native processing with frequencies ranging from 3.6 to 5.2 GHz with Turbo Boost.
A small step below the top of the Core i9-10900K range, it only lowers its frequency by 100 MHz. The rest is the same, from 20 Mbytes of third-level cache to the integrated Intel HD 630 graphics, going through a TDP consumption. 125 watts.
Considering the appearance of the unpublished Core i9-10910 that is presumed to have been exclusively prepared for the new Apple iMac 2020, this Core i9-10850K could be another special version that Intel would offer for the OEM and assembly segment by manufacturers that they work with Windows or Linux.
Geekbench results are excellent, almost identical to what the platform’s flagship offers:
Core i9-10850K includes the unlocked multiplier for easy overclocking and requires new motherboards with LGA-1200 socket and Z490 chipset to tap its full potential. It could offer a good value depending on the final pricing that Intel implements.
Alternatives favor industry and consumers, and the battle with AMD’s Ryzen is on. The company has prepared the Ryzen 3000XT as a quick and cheap review trying to compete directly with the Intel Core i5-10600K, i7-10700K and i9-10900K.
