We are going to talk a little about movies and games, and it is that as we pointed out the other day due to the announcement of the Fallout series, the symbiosis between both media is increasing. And although the saga Far Cry It has always had a strong film component, it gets more with each new installment.
The point is that Far Cry 5 He liked it a lot here and the next chapter of the saga has been in development for a long time, and could include one of the most outstanding supporting actors of recent years: Giancarlo Esposito. Perhaps the name does not tell you anything, but surely you have recognized it in the header image.
Giancarlo Esposito became especially popular after passing through Breaking Bad, series in which he embroidered the role of the evil Gus Fring, the owner of ‘Los Pollos brothers’, a character that he could continue to give life to when he no longer had it in the spin-off Better Call Saul. More recently she has also been seen in the excellent The Mandalorian, in which he again plays the villain on duty in the form of the former Empire officer Moff Gideon.
That is why, surely, when it has been known that Esposito could be involved in Far Cry 6, everyone is taking it for granted that he will be the new villain in the next installment of the Ubisoft franchise. Because when he wants to, he puts on a bad face – and a tone of voice – one of those in which it costs nothing to believe, as much as you know that behind there is a very nice guy.
In fact, Esposito has triumphed for his bad roles, but pigeonhole him is not fair because despite his popularity is what he is now thanks to them, he has a career of four decades behind him in which he has put himself in the skin of all kinds of characters. To highlight, for example, his interpretation in the last season of the highly recommended Dear whites from Netflix.
A few days before Esposito’s name was linked to that of Far Cry 6, the actor gave an interview and commented that he had participated in a game that “was going to be a big thing”, but couldn’t say what it was. And it was a matter of someone catching the statements to quickly target in the direction of Far Cry, even giving reasons why Esposito would be a great villain for the action franchise.
A day later the medium Gamereactor He ‘confirmed’ the news, although he ended up deleting it a few hours later. So everything has been left in suspense. We will know more -or not- on July 12, the date on which the online event Ubisoft Forward will be held that the French company, due to the cancellation of E3, will use to promote everything it has in its hands.
Is Giancarlo Esposito the bad guy Far Cry 6? Everything seems to indicate yes, but … But it has to be. After all, we talk about the murderer of Malcom X (Spike Lee).
